District 9 Neighbors for Housing attended a neighborhood open house to support a 100% affordable senior housing project at 3333 Mission Street, formerly the site of Big Lots. Developed by Bernal Heights Housing Corporation in collaboration with Mitchelville Real Estate Group and the Low Income Investment Fund, the proposal includes 70 units for seniors earning 30–120% of the area’s median income, along with plans to revitalize a public park and add neighborhood-serving commercial space.

In addition to the 10 members who attended the open house, D9 Neighbors for Housing gathered 64 petition signatures in support of this transformative project.
