About 30 D9 housing supporters gathered at Standard Deviant Brewery to celebrate San Francisco’s — and California’s — 2025 housing wins. It was a chance to pause, reflect, and recognize the progress that so many advocates, organizers, and partners worked hard to achieve this year.

In between the toasts and conversations, we heard from Roberto Hernandez about the powerful work of Mission Food Hub, a District 9–based organization providing food and essential support to families facing hardship. His remarks were a reminder that housing stability and food security are deeply connected — and that building a more inclusive city means showing up for our neighbors in multiple ways.

With so much happening nationally that is making life more difficult for vulnerable communities, we wanted this gathering to be more than just a celebration. We asked our community to support Mission Food Hub’s vital work — and you showed up.

We’re proud to share that together we raised over $1,200 to support Mission Food Hub’s efforts serving families right here in District 9.
